Google Play screenshot and feature graphic sizes

The phone, tablet, and feature graphic dimensions BowlerLaunch exports for Google Play Console. Design the deck once and render every device set from it, instead of re-cropping per form factor.

Phone screenshot size

Phone screenshots are the only mandatory set, and they carry the listing. Play shows the first few in search results and in the install sheet, so lead with the screens that explain what the app does.

Phone1080 × 19209:16Required — at least 2 phone screenshots per listing

Tablet screenshot sizes

Adding 7-inch and 10-inch sets is what marks a listing as tablet-optimized — the signal Play uses when deciding how to present your app on large screens, foldables, and Chromebooks. Both orientations are accepted; ship the one your app actually supports.

Feature graphic

Every Play listing needs a feature graphic. It sits above your screenshots and is reused in promotional slots, so keep the app name legible and avoid putting anything critical near the edges, where crops happen.

Localization

Each language in your listing carries its own screenshot set and its own feature graphic. Localized captions consistently outperform a single English set in non-English storefronts, which is why BowlerLaunch generates screenshots and listing copy per locale from the same app facts.

Frequently asked questions

How many screenshots does Google Play require?
At least 2 and up to 8 screenshots per device type, per language. Phone screenshots are mandatory; tablet sets are what let the listing be surfaced as tablet-optimized on large screens.
What is the Google Play feature graphic for?
It is a 1024x500 banner shown at the top of your store listing and used in promotional placements across Play. Every listing needs one, and it must not use transparency.
Do I need tablet screenshots?
Only if you want the listing to rank and present well on tablets, Chromebooks, and foldables. Play flags listings without tablet assets as not tablet-optimized, which suppresses them on large-screen devices.
What format and size limits apply?
PNG or JPEG, 24-bit, with each side between 320 and 3840 pixels and a 16:9 or 9:16 aspect ratio for most sets. BowlerLaunch exports flattened PNGs inside those bounds.
Can I reuse my App Store screenshots on Google Play?
The design can be reused, but the pixel dimensions and aspect ratios differ, so they have to be re-rendered rather than cropped. Composing once and exporting per store is exactly the problem BowlerLaunch solves.

Google revises Play Console asset requirements from time to time. Check the current listing requirements in Play Console before a release if it has been a while since your last one.
